Q&A

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?

A: The variety. There are days I get to spend out on jobsites, days I get to spend designing projects, and other days I get to spend in front of a spreadsheet. I also love the diversity of the partners we work with, from city officials to contractors to lenders to investors. Another favorite part is driving my boys around and showing them what I helped to create, having something tangible to show from all your hard work is very rewarding.

Q: What current projects are you most excited about?

A: I love all our projects for different reasons. They become so ingrained in you that you get attached. Blair Crossing is exciting because it has been so long since there has been a multifamily development in the area. The Collection at Gretna Landing is exciting because of the stage of development it is in. Designing and pricing projects and then actually breaking ground always feels like such an accomplishment.

Q: What’s one lesson you’ve learned in this industry that has stuck with you?

A: Determination, preservation, and hard work can get you a long way. I know that seems cliché, but most developers slowed down over the past few years with the economy and other factors, but we really kept pace, and that is a testament to how hard our team works and how creative we can get to get a deal done.

Q: What is something you’re passionate about outside of work?

A: My family and friends, being outside, and being active. My husband Clarke and I have two young boys, Brock, who is 6, and Brant, who is almost 4. We love the lake, the pool, and walks around the neighborhood – anything to get outside and be active, especially in the summer. Although that answer may change in a few months 😊

Cats or Dogs?

Dogs, we have a 10 year old Malti-poo, Barkley, who really is a part of the family, we joke he even thinks he’s a human. Our office dog, Timber, is also a favorite, they just make everything better.

Morning or Evening?

Morning, it is when I get my best work done. I love getting to the office before the day gets crazy to really set myself up for success.
