This month’s “Meet Metonic (& APOGEE)” spotlight is Karen Rossman, Office Manager. Karen leads all administrative duties and internal office management at Metonic. She supplies insight and direction for inter-office communications, assists with coordinating special projects, and provides assistance to the Investor Relations team
Q: When did you start with Metonic/APOGEE and how long have you been with the company?
A: I started June 2016. I work best in a fast pace company and I have not been disappointed. As our companies have grown, my role has evolved in ways I never would have envisioned at the beginning.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working at the organization?
A: I like that our company is PIVOTAL. The concept of asking ourselves, “what if?” is at the core of who we are.
Q: What is something that you’re passionate about outside of work?
A: Family, Family, Family! My husband and I both transplants to Nebraska. We have a 28 year old daughter who is a pediatric nurse at a local hospital and then we have an 8 year old who is a 3rd grader. We enjoy the outdoors as a family and often plan our vacations around things we can do outside. This year we enjoyed a road trip out to South Dakota and the black hills. A few nights were spent at a KOA campsite and the best part was the lack of internet connection. We have talked about restoring an old camper but that may be down the road. Another passion is that I have started to compost food waste and have been recycling as much as possible. In a short amount of time, we went from 4 bags of weekly trash down to just one bag. Next year I’m sure that compost will be put to good use!
THIS OR THAT
Dogs or cats?
- Dogs! We are actually on the hunt for our next family pet after having said good bye this year to our 16 year old dog.
Coffee or tea?
Phone call or text message?
Text message when it is a quick exchange of information but a phone call when I want to catch up with friends or family
Books or movies?
Books. I enjoy getting lost in a story and I read much more when the weather turns cold.
